Missed the original EPROM question so I can't comment

896 k is odd. Using Prodrive v1.2, Prodrive itself says I have a 960mb
ramdisk. Prodrive leaves 64k of auxiliary RAM otherwise a lot of
programs wouldn't run. Now the question is why you're minus 64k.

The RamWorks III needs 200 ns or faster chips. As long as they're
fast enough you'll never be able to see any difference whether they're
mixed or all fast or all slow. A few years ago when 256k chips were
pricey and hard to find used, I put in whatever I could find. I recall I
had one bank where almost every chip was a different speed and it
worked fine. Later when more chips were available I made them all
the same, however I couldn't see any difference.
