     Comp.sys.apple2 (Csa2) is, technically, an Apple II (not Mac or PC)
newsgroup. You are likely to get better help on a Mac newsgroup such as
comp.sys.mac.system.

     Regarding your problem (and knowing zilch about Mac networks) my
suggestion would be to try disconnecting any recent additions to the network
and any workstations and peripherals which have a history of glitchy
performance. Check all connections-- something may be loose-- and look for
stuff like a copier someone has rolled on top of a network cable.

     Anyway, someone in a Mac newsgroup will be able to supply expert advice.
