Neither method appears to have much of any error detection/correction but at
least it would be quicker than ordering disks. I have nothing against
ordering disks from a vendor (that is ideal really). It's just that I know
what it's like finding a cool used computer and working until the wee hours
of the morning to get it running. It sucks having to wait when you're
anxious to get something going.

Agreed. There are no Apple II's that lack a cassette port and Serial
port/card. They have to have at least one of them!

Yes, we should support the vendors who have stuck it out for us.
BTW, I found code for creating WAV files. To get things rolling, it would
be easier to create an audio file than to access the port directly (at the
cost of drive space). On that note, without having to write any code, you
could get someone to just record an 8-bit mono wav file from their Apple
cassette port to their PC mic port.
