No denying that. Lost Classics Project on the Genie's A2
Roundtable is the first in this. Though the intention of Lost Classics
Project is more of "getting the source code from the author, and
permission to change the code for future updates when required, and for
archival purposes so that it will not be lost forever.". Whatever evolved
out of it then, I have no idea honestly speaking. I wasn't a paying member
of Genie, so I never had an idea what's going on there.
Treasure Chest Project started with the intention of seeking
authors and copyright owners to re-release their software into the general
public again. I started this project from motivation of Charles Turley's
successful bid to get Medley GS re-released as Freeware. Since then,
Treasure Chest Project have been given leads to various authors and
copyright owners ... and we have been successful in gaining access to the
Beagle Oldies, as well as Penguin Software.
And of course, I thank Lost Classics for their support in giving
me information to their archives and successful acquisitions.
