Steps for GS appletalk startupdisk?

Assume someone with freshly downloaded system 6.01 disk and about zero
knowledge of the GS.  How do they get from there to sharing files & apps
off some little classroom Mac? 

I am afraid I will misremember some step or another & also know someone
out there could do a better job of documenting each step. I did look at
the FAQS (not a deep search) but didn't find those steps anywhere. (FAQ
suggestion?)

I ask because on occasion I get asked that question via email, usually
from a teacher who is reseraching how to get a little more use from a GS
they have found or inherited. However, I only made such a startup disk
once, as I basically was able to get Focus cards for our salvaged
machines.
