The Thunderscan, if I recall correctly, used to be a greyscale scanner
for the Apple II, to be used in conjunction with an Apple Imagewriter
dot matrix printer. The scanner was basically a replacement for the
ink ribbon and used the printer to feed the paper to be scanned and to
move the scanner sensor.
In other words, it was a grayscale page scanner. I used to have one,
but have never been happy with it.
