I also have Linux with a cable modem, a Mac and a IIgs (among many other
machines).  In your case, you just copy the files to a regular PC 1.44MB
floppy, put it into a Mac with PC-Exchange (or a Mac running 7.5 or later)
and copy the files to an 800K ProDOS floppy.  Done.  MacOS 7.5 and greater
read PC 720K and 1.44MB disks as well as ProDOS 800K disks.  Of course the
IIgs can also read 800K Mac disks without any trouble.  Plenty of options.

I saw some discussion of Netatalk.  There is a patch that supports the IIgs,
but I have not tried it yet.  Also, you would either need a
Localtalk->Ethernet bridge (available for $$$ anywhere iMac's are sold) or
there is a utility for 68030 Mac's to act as a bridge for you.  Sorry, I do
not recall the name of it.
