In case anyone's interested in reading the 100-page docs for Bud Simrin's
AncestorWorks package without first unshrinking the disks, loading the files
into an AppleWorks file reader and then printing, I went ahead and ran his
AppleWorks Word Processor file through the AppleWorks .pdf print driver and
created a .pdf file of the docs.

If you'd like a copy (or if Bill wants to put it with the disk downloads)
let me know, and I'll send it out. It's only 188 kB.

Regardless of your interest (or lack thereof in my case) in family history
software, the AncestorWorks package has value for a couple of other reasons.

First, it includes five (5) 'Init' files for general use with _any_
AppleWorks UltraMacros application. These files contain dozens of additional
'Dot' commands for use in UltraMacros programs. These commands were not
included in either the AppleWorks 5.1 distribution or in the separate Ultra
packages.

AFAIK, these (5) files are not available for download from the web from any
other source.

They are: 

1. I.UM.FILE.TOOLS
2. I.UM.SCRN.TOOLS
3. I.UM.STR.TOOLS
4. I.UM.PATHHAMES
5. I.UM.MISC.TOOLS

I believe these were all written by some mystery programmer named 'Cub', who
undoubtedly must hail from 'parts unknown' (as did The Spoiler, Don Jardine,
but I digress). Who was 'Cub'? Anybody know?

Anyway, after you unshrink the disk from Bill's site, just copy these (5)
files to the 'AW.INITS' directory in your AppleWorks (5.1) folder.

You _still_ won't have all the UltraMacros 'Dot' commands in existence, but
you'll have most of 'em. The remaining others were written by Doug Gum
(Office Productivity Software / AmperMacros) and Barclay Clemesha.


Second, the package holds instructional value in that it demonstrates the
extremes to which AppleWorks can be pushed with UltraMacros programming.
