     Under ProDOS, I get 22 seconds in 'Fast' mode and 71 seconds in "Normal".

     You could try a WTB ad on comp.sys.apple2.marketplace . Maybe, better, you
could slap together a 1MB module using SRAM.

     Opening it up and de-gunking the drive levers, slides, etc. should make a big
difference.
