Probably. Again, the main concern would be with using older major games, etc.
booted from original diskettes. With a ROM-01, you _know_ they are supposed to
work. With a ROM 3, you can not be sure. That is one of the big advantages of
guaranteed compatibility.
Anyway, in this particular case, we are talking about getting a second GS.
Someone who already owns a ROM-01 GS should, logically, go for a ROM 3.
