Having to quit the one in favor of the other involves much the same problem.
 I think: 1) "extra" storage space is no longer an unreasonable requirement;
2) the 90-10 rule applies -- I uncompress files much more frequently than I
compress them, so having both routines resident is nice but not completely
necessary; similarly, exhume-file is rarely used and rarely invoked as an
afterthought ("Okay, all the usergroup newsletters are shrunk -- hey, think
I'll exhume some files!"), so leave it on the disk.
