Boy, I could not agree with you more. It's almost as if the marketing manager
came from Baskin-Robbins and is the guy who invented the "Flavor of the Month"
promo. With the new names for the colors of the iMacs and the G3s; maybe they
did hire the guy from Baskin-Robbins.
As for the statement about upgrades; I also agree. When I bought my first Mac,
an SE, it was outdated in less than a month. Within a year, I bleieve there
were at least 6 better models. It was at that time I swore that I would never
buy a "NEW" Mac. I do have a Performa 6400 but it was purchased as salvage
after an electrician hooked it into a 220 line and blew the power supply. I
replaced the power supply and a fuse in the monitor and it has been chugging
away into obsolescence ever since.
Apple Computer, supporters of the Mac-of-the-Month club. Boy, am I glad my GS
still works!
