First, make sure that you are using an 800k 3,5" disk. It has only one
read/write notch in the top right. If you are using the correct type of disk,
the problem is most likely in the Macs internal drive. Many (MANY) of the newer
3.5" drives do not work correctly with the older Sony mechanisms. Apple
cheapened things up on their Mac 3.5's. I had to replace mine before I could
move disks between my GS and my Mac.
