I've heard similar stories including a case where a person was stuck
trying to move files from a IIGS to their new iMac. The lack of a floppy
drive didn't occur to them until they got it home and started looking at
moving the files. There aren't a lot of Mac programs I run anymore, but
those I do I move from machine to machine via floppies. I don't like the
idea of having to jump through hoops 'cause Steve Jobs has a burr under
his saddle about floppies. His "it's obsolete because I say so" attitude
really torques me off. For years I've been thinking of the original 1984
Mac ad and how much Apple in general (and Steve Jobs in particular) have
become so much like Big Brother shown in the ad.
