Anyone buying a new Mac should be well aware of the lack of
serial/scsi.  You'd have to have done no checking whatsoever to wind up
with a new g3 and be surprised at the lack of scsi and serial ports.

You can buy new g3's (any model) with scsi.  You can get usb-to-scsi
converter.  You can get usb-to-serial converters.  You can buy
usb-to-adb converters.  You can buy usb-floppy drives.  All relatively
inexpensively.

I use ethernet much more than I use a floppy.  I have an iMac connected
to an ethernet network and not having a floppy is no trouble at all.

These are good changes.  Educate yourself before buying a new machine
(common knowlege) so that you won't be surprised, and enjoy the new
features, speed of a new machine.
