Wrong, Claris never gave up AppleWorks and AppleWorks GS.
They simply had an agreement to let Quality upgrade and sell
the software. And actually, when Quality failed to upgrade
AWGS, they had to pay penalties to Claris. Now that Apple has
reabsorbed Claris, they own the name. They can put AppleWorks
on anything they want. They even have AppleWorks for
Windows (formerly ClarisWorks)!

But we are not asking Apple for any support, simply for a statement
saying "ok, you can now distribute AW and AWGS as System
Software." All they have to do is say AW and AWGS can be
treated like how HyperCard for the IIGS is treated now. No big
heave-ho on their part. They don't have to spend a dime. So why
wouldn't they do it? If you say because they don't remember us
Apple II users, well that's why we have to MAKE them remember. ;-)
(Technical support apparently still remembers what AppleWorks GS
is...an AWGS user emailed me telling about how technical support
gave detailed instructions about AWGS to Claris("Apple")Works
for Windows transfers.)
