Big Apple Users Group 2.22.1999

Welcome to the Big Apple Users Group, a computer club for users of Apple
II and compatible computers.

This month we will demonstrate how to download e-mail from your Internet
Service Provider to your Apple II desktop, and how to upload it back onto
your ISP, so that your e-mail program can read it again. This way you can
get your e-mail files off your Internet Service Provider's host computer,
and yet keep them for future reference. We will also download e-mail in
Apple II text or Apple Works word processing (AWP) format, so that you can
read it in AppleWorks or other Apple II programs. We will log onto my
Unix shell account at Dorsai, my ISP, and use the pine e-mail program.

We will also look at the BAUG web page Polly and I have been developing,
but which is not yet up on a web site. It is on my home directory at
Dorsai, and can only be viewed within Dorsai.

There will be a Q & A session when you may ask any questions or share any
information or opinions about the Apple II.

We will meet at 6:30 pm, Monday, February 22, 1999, at 345 West 58th
Street, Apt 5L, next to the Coliseum, just west of Columbus Circle, in
Manhattan.

For further information, you may call our hot line at (212)606-2297. We
also post our announcements on comp.sys.apple2.usergroups and
dorsai.announce. If you have any questions, you may phone us at
(718)499-7470 or (212)956-3634, or send us e-mail at baug@dorsai.org.

We hope to see you there. You are welcome whether you are a novice or a
power user. Apple II forever!
