Boy, I remember thinking those "velcro" pads were really a neat
idea on my brand-new Apple II Plus back in 1980. They made such
a nice, soft "click" when you popped the top open or closed.
Unfortunately, the little plastic balls-on-stalks soon started
to break off, then the glue came loose, leaving two pads stuck
together on the lid and nothing on the case, so the lid was now
held on only by the weight of the monitor. The pop-on lid on the
second version of the Apple IIe case was a far better idea IMHO.
