The white key style //e's don't discolor since they have that sprayed on
finish, the same as ][s and ][ pluses. It chips off instead. I rebuilt my
//e in a plastic case from the italic key style //e when my old case became
badly chipped. I subsequently unearthed an early rev A //e with the sprayed
on finish in pretty good shape. Also I have a new in box, never used beige
//e case top so I can build the ultimate mint condition //e should I choose
to use it for that.
If you don't think the beige plastic discolors, you haven't seen many Apple
IIIs or beige Mac Pluses. I had a heck of a time finding a presentable III
since most were used in offices where people didn't worry about having the
sun discolor their stuff.
