Actually, AE produced two different AEHD drives. The first one
uses the special driver and formats the HD diskettes to 1.6MB.
The second drive is a SuperDrive clone. It requires NO driver
on the IIgs and works as a 800KB/1.4MB drive. I have one connected
to my IIgs right here. The label on the bottom states 'AE 3.5"
Disk Driver for Macintosh Computers'. The original poster mentions
that the drive was used on a Mac (SE/30?) so there is some hope
that this drive is the SuperDrive clone type.
Hope this helps.
Paul.
