The ZipGS CDEV may be in the SYS601CDEV.SHK or SYS601MISCCDEV.SHK
file on Asimov-GS at ftp://apple.cabi.net/pub/applegs/System/ .

ZipFix is needed to get a good Zip CDEV and there is a patch for
the CDA which should be applied. Mostly, though, you may have all you
need with ZipCDA.

Regarding the settings, some timings were done running the
following program ...

20 FOR I= 1 TO 50000
30 NEXT I
40 PRINT CHR$(7)
50 END

On our 10/64 ZipGSx, the Switch-1 settings are the factory defaults ...

1-1 ON
1-2 OFF
1-3 ON
1-4 OFF
1-5 OFF
1-6 ON
1-7 set for 64k cache
1-8 set for 64k cache

So are the Switch-2 settings, except 2-2 is ON ...

2-1 ON
2-2 ON
2-3 ON
2-4 ON
2-5 ON
2-6 OFF
2-7 ON
2-8 OFF

Changing settings (via the CDA or CDEV) for AppleTalk Delay (1-3)
and Counter Delay (1-4) made no difference in the time needed to run the
program. And, changing the setting for Joystick Delay (1-2) had no
effect on readings produced by a joystick test/adjust program.

The main ZipGS Speed setting works; but, if there are any speed
affects from the AppleTalk Delay, etc. settings, they do not seem to
show up when running BASIC programs, at least not on our ZipGSx.
