HP deskjet printers

I have bought an HP 420C printer for use with my Apple II's. A word of 
caution for anyone else who is going to get one of these things. The 
process for clearing a paper jam is not as simple as the instructions with 
the printer imply. You are instructed to fold down the front cover and 
then pull horizontally to disengage the cover and allow access to the 
jammed paper. THE FRONT COVER DOES NOT COME OFF EASILY! If you are not 
careful, you can break the retaining pin which forms part of the hinge. I 
got it off by slightly opening the cover, then pulling gently to bring the 
pin against the slot that it is supposed to slide easily into. Rocking the 
cover up and down, while pulling gently will work the retaining pin into 
the slot, and allow the cover to come off. DO NOT give the cover a mighty 
yank! This will get it off, but not in the way you want it to come off!
