Quibble about Second Sight in ROM 01

I have a Second Sight card and a ROM 3 IIGS.  I have a IIGS
in a tower case.  I've recently took a look at the IIGS case
(which I kept) and noticed something funny.

There is only one cutout that would fit the VGA connector
on the back of the IIGS case.  When the connector is put
here, the only slot that the Second Sight fits in close
enough to the connector is Slot 1.  This is no problem on
a ROM 3, but what about for ROM 01 users?  They must
use slot 3 and the VGA ribbon cable is not long enough
to reach from that cutout to the Second Sight.

It looks like the Second Sight designers used ROM 3 units.
