Re: TranswarpGS & GS/OS 6.0.1

 Edhel chanted almost zenlike:

E| I've got a version 1.5 TranswarpGS with (AFAIK) all the original
  | parts (8K cache, 7(?) MHz, etc.), and it seems to work, except it
  | doesn't install its CDA and it won't boot past GS/OS's "Welcome to
  | the IIGS" title screen. The red progress bar doesn't even START to
  | move. Can something be done, or should I just return it?

Okay, from my uninformed meanderings with an 8k 7MHz TWGS, ROM 1.5...

-Do you have a RamKeeper? Lose it.
-Do you have a RamFast? Set the RF's DMA to No and TWGS to Yes.
-The RamFast manual describes one particular revision which the TWGS
is not compatable with (we've discussed in CSA2 recently).
-Did you set the CDA's settings <wrestle wrestle> AppleTalk/IRQ to On?
-You didn't change the Control Panel's Slots setting, right? Don't.
-Is the card and the chipthing seated squarely? Some cards had bad
ribbon cables; the FAQ describes what to look for and what to do.
-Since you're just starting up, it's not a heat problem (yet).

There can be a whole bunch of reasons stuff isn't booting. Don't give
up just yet. It could be the chipthing or some setting.
