Re: Looking for IIe-IIgs conversion kit
STEVE TOWNSEND and I have both made "Stealth-IIgs" units ---- IIgs
motherboard in a IIe casing.
Steve Townsend (Tacoma WA) has a technique that is more elegant. He uses
long-barrel-washers are are the correct height. He drills into the metal
bottom-plate and installs the long barrel-washers.
I have not located those parts. :-( My method has been to use wooden
moulding strips of the correct height. The wooden strips are glued and
attached to the metal bottom plate. Then I use nylon washers and short
wood screws to attach the motherboard to the five wooden strips. I've
made three stealth-GS's so far---- all have worked. No "blown
motherboards" so far.
I will mail my magazine article to anyone who supplies their postal
address. Bye, Steve Buggie
