IIe no-slot-clock: battery replacement?

This is a topic I've brought up previously.  The No-Slot-Clock (NSC) in my
flagship IIe quit, so I replaced the whole unit.   These units were
expensive and are no longer available.  I am determined to figure out how
to replace its battery!

The NSC is an IC embedded in a 28-pin wide IC-socket.   WHERE IS THE
BATTERY?  If its buried in the frame of the IC socket, then its voltages
must be communicated to the IC via the legs of the IC.  In that case,
wires could be soldered to the appropriate two legs of the IC, then
connected to a lithium coin battery that could be encapsulated and hung by
wires over the edge.

If the battery is inside the IC itself ---- then I am sunk and will
grudgingly accept that the unit is disposable!

The NSC now running my IIe is my last unit ---- I'm reluctant to tinker
with it.  But if anyone has more than one NSC, could you try measuring the
DC voltages across the various pin pairings.  I'd need to know the specify
pins, the +/- polarity, and the voltage of the battery.

As a devoted Apple II user, I am angered by the idea of throwaway
technology!  Restore life to the NSC!    Steve Buggie
