Apple II Desktop...help?

Here's the problem...
I went and downloaded Apple II Desktop from...hmm, somewhere. Since I'm
using it with a IIe, I downloaded both the 5.25 and 800k archives just in
case. The 5.25 version seemed to simply be a more minimal version of the
800k (less files) and since I have a 3.5 drive, I decided to use the 800k
version.
When trying to run the DESKTOP1 file (which is the only root-level
runnable file I see) it starts with the message 'Copying DeskTop IIe to
RAM Card' or something along those lines...after about a minute, it
crashes out to the monitor with
FC24- A=0C X=38 Y=28 P=74 S=2D
I'm guessing there's something going wrong, but since so many people seem
to have run it just fine, I can't imagine what...
It's loading off of a 20Mb ProDOS partition, (and assumedly) onto a 512k
partition in RAM7.
Now, if I run the DESKTOP.SYSTEM file that is in the 'ULTRALAUNCH' folder,
it runs fine, though it informs me that it is launching a IIgs version for
some reason. Of course, when I try to quit back to ProDOS it crashes into
the monitor with 1010- A=B5 X=04 Y=00 P=B0 S=65...
Also, if I open RAM7 while in this 'ultralaunch' version, I see DESKTOP2,
and a few other files. Not all of the files, just some of them.

And finally, where would I put the desk accessories that come with the
archive so that they are accessible in Apple II Desktop?
