Have you ever SEEN an Apple IIgs accelerator--AFAIK, they all come on
cards, and involve a fair number of chips. The Zip Chip & Rocket Chip
for the Apple //e etc. used some special caching technique--I already
suggested a faster CPU to the group here, and found that popping one
in isn't gonna do it. AE's TransWarp for the //e also came on a card.

The way to do this seems to involve swapping the CPU & clock crystal
on the accelerator and/or slapping on a bigger cache.
I just got my first IIgs accelerator and can't wait 'till I get back
to college to try it out!
