More about GEOS...and...piracy?

FWIW, I am not advocating piracy. I guess it may seem that way though.
(However, have any of you tried to buy GEOS anywhere recently?) I actually
own GEOS for the IIe and C128, but either a couple of files on my GEOS IIe
disks are bad, or the version I has is simply heavily copy-protected. (I
get odd errors within GEOS when trying to do certain things)...That's why
I needed some of the files off of someone else's disk. I guess, if you
have a very stringent definition of the word, that may put me down as
having 'pirated' it, somehow. But, I wanted to put it on a HD, and use it
in GSOS, and without this, I wouldn't have been able to.
But if there are people out there who legitimiately own GEOS, I will
gladly make them a disk with their files on it so that they may enjoy it
on a 3.5 disk, or even a HD. And besides, there's a fun sort
of...challenge, I guess, in it.
(You know, accomplishing something after really trying at it...without my
IIe card, Bernie, time, patience, and a bunch of other stuff, I bet it
would have actually been much less possible)

So, I mainly post this because I myself can occasionally be overzealous
about people when they pirate stuff, (especially with the whole 'warez'
mentality for the current software that people pirate the day it comes
out), so I'm attempting to curtail needless people swooping down on me
with undue wrath and flames.
And to prevent 30 'd00d can j00 send m3 GEOS disks 4 the emulator???'
emails...though, fortunately, I have yet to see any people like that on
here.

But, if you do own GEOS, and you would like to put it on your HD or need
help figuring out how to do what I have done...or perhaps I can even help
you with it if you provided images...then contact me.
At first I thought it would be nice to make a perfect image of it (no
one's name stamp on it) and put it somewhere like an FTP for everyone, but
then I realized that that would most likely be...wrong... and I *could*
upload it *with* the namestamp, but...then that person's GEOS is getting
needlessly spread around.
So perhaps, I will see if I can change to name to
something...suitable...not a promise that it will be something I will
throw around to everyone, but it was a thought. Hmmm. ah well, torn
between the desire to share something nifty with all the other II'ers who
would appreciate it, and the feeling that perhaps it is one of the more
desired but not pirated-and-wholly-distributed programs which is
around...and is that way for a reason. Give me input people, I want to
know where I stand in all of this, where the line of ethicality (is that a
word?) stands.
