     Probably, it does offer some extra TV/Radio interference shielding.
On the other hand, you may not be getting any useful benefit from the
shielding.

     The shielding traps dust, reduces airflow through the case, makes
the case difficult to clean, and is a shorting hazard. If the
possibility of some additional interference from your computer is not a
major concern in your particular situation, then getting rid of the
unused power supply and other shielding is, probably, a good idea.
