Do mpeg's work in apples?

I have a pc and I wanna get a big movie onto a friends
computer. If I convert it into an mpeg and burn it onto a
CD will the apple reject it because it was on a pc-formatted
CD or because it is an mpeg or what?
Any suggestions would be usefull, thanks.
