I have six ROM1 machines that I have had no problems with. I had to go through
two ROM3 machines before I finally got one that was "stable." The first had a
problem with destroying disks in disk drives. (Put disk drive on ROM1, works
fine. Put disk drive on ROM3, watch it erase disks.) The second had some
wierd ROM chips compared to the first and some older surface mounted chips. It
would crash when the moon or the tides or cosmic rays or whatever were not
right. Eventually, I pinned it down to some kind of memory problem because I
couldn't get the Appleworks GS memory tester to run consistantly cleanly on it.
My last ROM 3 has just been a sweat dream machine.

You're not going to crash or eat disks on my, are you my darling little ROM3?

#BEEP# Of course not. #BEEP#

That's a good little ROM3. (Uh, oh! I better sacrifice more Windows 3.0 disks
to the Apple 3.5 drive. Quick! ;)
