Welcome
I'd just like to say Welcome to new users and old friends who are just coming
onto the Web this week due to the holidays. This is a great bulletin board,
where you'll find lots of knowledgeable users to help you with any question you
have about the Apple II, IIe, IIc, IIc+, or IIGS. I visit here often, as do
many users, collectors, experts, and other die-hard lovers of Apple II
computers.
While you are on the web, please drop by TEXAS II's web site at
http://members.aol.com/A2MG ...."A2MG" stands for the Apple II Mail Group.
It's a regular (almost daily) e-mail newsletter containing questions and
answers about Apple II software and related subjects. Our group brings users
from all ISP's and all online services, who may not have the opportunity to
communicate in any other way, together.
Also at http://members.aol.com/A2MG ----- (my web site, in case you haven't
guessed)
- Frequently asked Questions about AppleWorks - Last updated today, 12/26/98.
- Current version numbers of Beagle Bros and other TimeOut accessories for
AppleWorks 3.0 or 5.1. Last upodated a few weeks ago, when we fixed TimeOut
FIle Librarian for a Year 2000 bug.
- Speaking of the Year 2000, possibly the most important thing you will need to
know is that there will be Y2K problems with some Apple II programs, such as
"Classic" AppleWorks versions 1.x, 2.x, 3.0, and 5.x by R.J.Lissner, Randy
Brandt, et al., ProSel 8 and 16 by Glen Bredon, Intrec Software's ProTerm, and
others. We're way ahead of you... many fixes are already available now! We now
have a total of 4 Year 2000 pages at http://members.aol.com/A2MG - dedicated to
everything you need to know about the Year 2000 - what to do about it, and
when. Even if you don't use those programs, you should be aware of the Apple II
Y2K situation, so that you can help others when the time comes.
Again, welcome to the Web (I'm fairly new here, too...). I hope you have a
pleasant time. We don't just think we know everything about Apple II's, we
actually do!!
