Check out Seven Hills web site for a program called Kanagroo. This
program keeps track of and lets you quickly select the most recently
used folders and files and gives you the ability to do file commands
(rename, delete and more) all from in the standard file dialogs. It
can also automatically add a second menu item to your desktop programs
that will always show you the most recently accessed files.
Combine this with TransProg III (also from Seven Hills), which gives
your IIgs the equivalent of the Programs menu in the Windows 9x, NT
Start menu, you've got a IIgs that is incredibly convenient to use.

I believe there is a public domain/freeware/shareware NDA out there
that allows you to use certain Finder Extras from programs other than
the Finder. I think this is what you were asking about because Finder
Extras already have their own menu in the Finder so why bother putting
them in the Apple menu. :-)

This would be in the Finder, I presume? These would be kind of nice
but I haven't heard of anything to do this.

I'd love to see this myself but haven't looked into doing this yet. I
hold down the option key to tunnel WAY more often than I don't. :-)
