There is a more fundamental reason why IIgs memory cards won't work, namely
the inability to physically fit in and connect electronically.

There is support for only 1 mb of ROM, in banks $F0-FF. The SHR video displays
and native soft switches are in banks $E0 and $E1. The vast majority of banks
from $80 on up are unallocated.

: That means the IIe has to use bank switching.

Slinky cards don't do bank switching.
