True, but it is still not as convenient. Still, if it does turn
out that software to drive CD-R drives are not feasable
(they said that about MultiFinder, pre-emtive multitasking,
FAX, Wolfenstein, and lots of other stuff and the IIGS has
them all now) I'd probably go the route of the Mac
emulator. I've been using an evaluation copy of
Gemulator and it is great. As soon as I can, I'll get the
real thing.

I still think that IF IT WERE POSSIBLE (it still has not been
proven that it is not a possibility) for the IIGS to support
CD-R, it would BETTER ENABLE projects such as the
adventure game that I'm thinking of.
In fact, I am almost 100% certain that if I had a CD-R
attached to the IIGS on the same SCSI chain as my
1GB IBM SCSI drive I can program such a huge and
complex multimedia adventure game (think Kings'
Quest, Riven, Titanic, etc.) using HyperCard or
HyperStudio. It would be incentive to DO IT.
Right now, I can do this on a Zip disk, but I doubt
IIGS users would shell out the $20 for it that would
allow me to break even for the Zip disk and the
shipping. CD-R's, meanwhile, are $3 each. I can
ask for $5 each and break even.
I'm not out for a profit, only distributing my software
without expending any money.
