You can't install it onto modern "Smartport device" hard drives
which includes SCSI hard drives for the IIGS and Bernie
images.

The original (copy protected) version of GEOS was designed
with hard drives like the Sider in mind with proprietary
interfaces.

GEOS was updated and later (non copy protected) versions
could be installed in an SCSI hard drive, but I didn't upgrade
before they stopped publishing it.

Instead of installing the GEOS operating system, you can
copy the GEOS files to the hard disk (image).  That way,
you still need to boot from floppy, but at least you can run
GeoWrite, GeoPublish, and other programs from the
hard drive.
