ummmm.... Joe? i have been following this thread for a while. aside
from a statement from Mr. Turley about his not being able to access
Delphi's Apple II message base, he hasn't said a THING that would possibly
be construed as a flame of any sort (within recent histlry, at least)
here.

in FACT, the only time that he even mentioned your name was in a list that
he referred to "the Powers That Be"... how THAT is understood as a
flame/lie/hearsay/rumor can only be explained by you. seeing that English
is my primary language, i thought i had a good grasp of it. apparently,
i've been kidding myself.

i've "used" it too. trick is that it doesn't seem to want to work without
a modem (unless i use scripting, which i haven't had the time to play with
yet). does that mean i haven't poked around with it? no. i'm not trying
to put words in Mr. Turley's mouth, but maybe that's all he did-- play
with it without actually having it connect to anything (which, like you
say, he wouldn't be able to do without serial ports). i suspect that
there's nothing in Marinetti that would cause it to bomb if there were no
serial ports available...

if there's any truth to that, then he hasn't been doing it here. (if he
HAS, then my employer seems to be filtering those messages out. -I-
haven't seen 'em.)

it's my (worthless and unwanted) opinion that you started this round.
