Drive to get AppleWorks GS released as freeware?

A few days ago, a IIGS user who wanted to
transfer 600 recipes in AWGS format to a
Windows PC emailed me and told me that
he called Apple with his question.  The folks
at Apple were very helpful.

It seems since gobbling back Claris, Apple
now has a very good memory of AWGS.
They told the IIGS user how "AppleWorks 5.0"
for Macintosh (formerly ClarisWorks) and
for Windows could import AWGS files.  They
still know AWGS exists!

But we must act now because that memory
is not going to last forever.

Several years ago, Apple was kind enough
to release HyperCard for the Apple IIGS as
System Software.  What about AWGS now
that it has returned to the Apple label?

How about it, Apple users?  Anyone know
the contact information to Apple's software
division esp. former Claris?  Let's try to get
AWGS to become the same status as
HyperCard.

Think how much good this will do the IIGS!
