If your downloading them with ProTERM 3.x, just look under the
'File' menu for "Set File Info" and select that. It allows you to
easily change the filetype, access and auxiliary type (it is also
useful since you can apply the changes to large batches of files,
rather than applying the changes one file at a time).

There are several other options. FAZ II (File Attribute Zapper)
that runs under ProDOS 8, UtilityWorks, Kanagroo, PMPUnZip as well
as many others.

That is an add-on script program for Spectrum (the only full
featured GS/OS based telecommunications program) called Spectrum
Internet Suite, or "SIS" for short.

At present it requires you have access to a text-based shell
account (though support through SLIP/PPP accounts shouldn't be
too far off). It is mostly just a fancy mouse driven version of
Lynx that runs on the Apple IIgs side. There are no graphics, no
sound, no plug-ins, no downloading, etc. You click on text links
that can use different font sizes, styles and colors. Nice, but
a far cry from anything like Netscape or MSI-Explorer.
