Re: What's up on the A2 forum of Delphi access???
> Why? What's the point? You said you were looking for another ASCIi accessible
forum because Compuserve (I assume, you mean just the Apple II area?) is
shutting down. Delphi is such a forum and it already exists. Why do you need
another one?
Sheldon, I thought Tom was really going to set up another forum, but I guess it
was just more of the same old battle having to do with things that I do not
understand or care about. I would welcome any new Apple II board, whether it's
Ascii or not.
I don't have telenet access because my Apple II comm software doesn't handle it
properly at my telenet node, which is Compuserve. Anyway, I don't have any
reason to pay for a service that doesn't include e-mail, and I'm not going to
buy new software at this point.
Most of the people who are interested in my specialty (AppleWorks, macros), are
in the Apple II Mail Group. So there's no need for me to go to them, because
they come to me. I am sure it doesn't include everybody, but there are at least
80-100 people in our group right now, and that's good enough for me.
The last time I visited Delphi A2, there were some conversations about me which
I found very, very hurtful. This occurred at a time when I was staying up into
the wee hours working on the Year 2000 fixes for ProSel, AppleWorks, and other
software. If I had known those threads were going on, I never would have made
that effort for this community. I'm sure that if I say I do not wish to visit
that board, anyone would understand. Thank you for understanding.
We haven't lost Compuserve yet - my primary need is for a good e-mail system in
ascii where I can send text and upload files across the internet. Whether there
is an Apple II board associated with that service is not as important because
the Apple II Mail Group stays very busy all the time.
Meanwhile, I've enjoyed seeing this board (CSA2) go back to "good old Q & A,"
and it certainly fills a great need for everyone. I just love the web, and wish
I had made the effort years earlier.
