Hi Adam,
For your information and concerning your proposal to mirror all the A2 AOL
archives, please be advised that I, with the help of others in the Apple II
community have already done this.  We worked with the premission, blessings and
assistance of AOL to make the entire AOL A2 archives, messageboard info files,
discussion transcript text files, etc. available for free public access  via
the main Apple2 ftp site -> Ground.  It took us about 14 months of hard work
and daily time consuming efforts with downloading each file, then varifying
each file and then uploading each file to the Ground Apple II site during the
period of 1996 thru late part of 1997.  The entire project was completed around
the end of Nov.97 and is now on Ground A2 ftp site for all Internet users to
have for free public access and download needs.

The files that were corrupt and/or written over are of course lost forever
(about 6% - I'd estimate)
but most all of the useful and important archives, text files and forum message
transcripts were
in good shape and were mirrored to the Ground A2 ftp site.  We decided as many
of the AOL A2 files already existed on Ground before this project was
undertaken - to not duplicate them in the AOL A2 collections archive.  The
entire AOL A2 collection is around 250 MB's total.

The url to access them is noted below as both ftp and WWW (hyml).

If you do have the space to provide mirrors  - certainly that would be
