More connection woes IIe <-> PC
Ok, I found a null-modem cable and I hooked it up to my PC's COM2 port.
Then I hooked the other end (with a DB9 to DB25 adaptor & a gender-bender)
to the super-serial card on my IIe. I've tried to use ADT, but to no avail.
What am I supposed to see on the screen when first transferring ADT to the
apple 2. I followed the instructions to a "T":
connect the 2 computers
type "IN#1" to redirect input to the serial card (it's in slot 1, since I
was using it for my printer)
type <ctrl-a>6B to make the SSC do 300bps mode
start a comm program on the PC (I chose hyperterm)
set it to 300bps 8N1
send ASCII text file (adt.dmp) to apple 2 over COM2
I'm a little frustrated at this point. I don't see anything when I type on
the PC (neither on the apple2, or on the PC) I see nothing when trying to
xfer the adt.dmp file to the apple2. I'm assuming that I don't really have
them hooked up correctly. Will just your standard null-modem cable from
CompUSA work? (with proper adapters) I reset the dip switches on the SSC as
noted at the end of the readme for ADT.
Is there something I'm missing?
Help!
