Weird Rogue crashes

Hi! I am currently experimenting with the Rogue roleplaying game
which I would like offer on my own ftp site, but I found out that
all versions on the common ftp sites have a severe bug which causes
the program to crash into the monitor if a game is saved, then
restored again.

I don't want to offer a game with such a heavy bug. The programmer
seems to have patched the I/O a little too much. Is there a fix for
this problem?
