This is advisable only if one likes to have his pocket picked. Asking the
same question over in comp.sys.mac.wanted is one way to get a cheap cable.
Another is to check used computer stores. The less they support Apple the
better since they'll consider Apple stuff worthless. Example: at one store
which deals in used parts which I frequent, I once found an AppleDesign 
extended keyboard in perfect working condition and with only one small 
scratch on it, plus a mouse II which worked great. Got 'em for $1 each. I 
also found a loose ADB keyboard cable for a buck there. I've relieved them
of so much Apple stuff in the past year or so it ain't funny, because as
hard core Bill Gates disciples, they don't want it and give it away.
