FIXING "DEAD" 3.5" 800K PLATINUM DISK DRIVES
============================================
I just batted "5-for-5" on repairing a set of platinum 3.5" drives!
Here is advice:
Two worked again just by opening the case and cleaning out the cobwebs,
etc.
One worked again when I transplanted the drive from a scrapped Macintosh
II into the external casing.
One had its internal IDE-20 plug disconnected from the analog board
socket.
The last one took 4-5 hours! It finally worked when I swapped it into a
different casing.....
Never give up on apparently "dead" Apple hardware! Long live A2!
