IIgs Questions...
Hi,
I just picked up a IIgs at the county dump. Consists of a Waz IIgs
(ROM01), RGB monitor, two 5 1/4" and one 3 1/2" floppy drives, Sider
Hard Drive and lots of books and software (games, no OS) and an
ImageWriter II I left there.
Question is, it has a AE GS-RAM card with 1.5 mb on board and a AE
GS-RAM 2mb Expander plugged into it. It doesn't seen to get past the
signon screen if the Expander card is hooked to the main RAM card.
With just the 1.5mb card everything is fine.
The GS-Ram Expander has switches 2 & 3 set to on. Is this correct?
With both cards hooked together, which card plugs into the IIgs?
How long should it take to boot up with 3.5 (4) megs of memory?
Also, the Sider HD doesn't work. Think it's a bad HD. Seagate ST-157N
hooked to a RamFAST Rev D v3.00 SCSI card. Who makes RamFAST? Any
good?
I installed a Quantum 80mb and was able to format and partition it OK
and install ProDOS 8 on it. All the software that came with it was
games and such, no OS.
What OS does a IIgs normally run?
Oh, what slot should I put the SCSI card in? I have it in 7 now but it
was in 4 when I got the unit.
One last thing, if I put a CP/M card in this unit, can I run CP/M off
the HD?
Guess that's about it for now,
Thanks
Clarence
