I wonder how many people out there have old (pre-dejanews) articles
stashed away somewhere on their hard drive. I know I do :-)

If you got all of these oldtimes to dredge up their articles you
might get some semblance of a pre-dejanews archive. Although I expect
the coverage would be spotty, probably the best of the newsgroup
would then be restored, since people tend to save articles that
interest them.
