Hi Jens,
Well, first of all, the newsgroup that this question is posted in is
comp.sys.apple2, which is a newsgroup dedicated to the Apple computer that
came *before* the Macinotsh ("Mac") - the Apple II.
That being said, I do have some ideas for you. I looked the printer up
in Apple's Tech Info Library.
http://til.info.apple.com/techinfo.nsf/artnum/n19933 ) Basically, the info
is:
Interfaces:
LocalTalk port
Bidirectional parallel port
Ethernet port (supports EtherTalk, TCP/IP, and Novell NetWare IPX
protocols)
And, the printer is PostScript too, so I'd take it off the Mac, and
place is directly on the Ethernet. Then, I'd connect the Mac to the
Ethernet too (I think it's built in on the 7100). You should be able to
access the printer from the Ethernet from both the PC World and the Mac
world. (You might have to adjust some settings - I'm not sure what kind of
Novell NetWare emulation Apple uses.)
Alternatively, since the printer has a parallel port, you could plug it
into a PC directly, then just use an Apple LaserWriter postscript driver
from Windows.
Hope this helps,
Paul
