One would think that the printer cable and the modem cable for the Apple
IIc would be the same, since they both use a serial interface.
Since I don't have a IIc, I don't have any manuals with the Apple IIc's
pinouts. However, they should be the same as a Laser 128. Here is the
pinout for the 128's serial interface.

     ----
  /        \    1. DTR - data terminal ready  to
                2. TD - transmit data
 |o 5     1o|   3. ground
   o 4   2o     4. RD - receive data
  \   o3   /    5. DSR - data set ready
     ----

Since my (PC) computer has a db9 port for a serial port, I don't have a
diagram for you. However the pinouts for the 25 pin port should be:

  8       DCD (Data Carrier Detect)
  3       RX  (Receive Data)
  2       TX  (Transmit Data)
  20      DTR (Data Terminal Ready)
  7       GND (Signal Ground)
  6       DSR (Data Set Ready)
  4       RTS (Request To Send)
  5       CTS (Clear To Send)
  22      RI  (Ring Indicator)

So, I believe...
Apple IIc (5pin) IBM (25 pin)
     1<--------------->6
     2<--------------->3
     3<--------------->7
     4<--------------->2
     5<--------------->20
             ... should do it. Then you'd a copy of ADT, or teminal
programs on both ends to do the transfer. ADT can be found here:
ftp://mirror.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/utility/adt121.zip

Hope this helps.
